2016 was an unusually dry growing season, but daily temperatures were fairly mild. These conditions resulted in the earliest harvest we have ever had, but the intensely perfumed and balanced grapes have made some lovely and very approachable, balanced wines.
The small crop of Riesling was de-stemmed, crushed, drained and then pressed and settled. The free run juice was then cool fermented in stainless steel tank. This slow, cool ferment preserved the absolute fruit purity evident in the grapes, and after blending and filtering, the wine was bottled in late June to retain the freshness and aromatics of the fruit.
