The palate is reflective of the nose with a balance of freshness, texture & oak.
Average rainfall through winter maintained good soil moisture. We experienced some cold fronts through spring which were detrimental during flowering. As a result, yields were lower than average. However, we had some warm weather through summer resulting in incredibly concentrated and powerful wines with great acidity.
This pristine single vineyard Chardonnay was whole bunch pressed to retain delicacy and freshness, then settled in tank to clarify overnight. The juice was transferred to French oak barriques (20% of which were new) for ferment and maturation, with the barrels completing malolactic fermentation soften the high natural acidity from this very cool season. Prepared for bottling in January 2023.
