PALATE

White stone fruit with nuts & mild pear fold into a beautifully balanced wine with fresh acidity. Matured in French oak for 11 months, adding texture & complexity.

VINTAGE

Budburst was early this year which resulted in flowering with good fruit set. The warm ripening period saw harvest commence a week sooner than normal. Yields were reported as high – average with fine acidity retention and excellent balanced flavours.

WINEMAKING

The fruit was perfectly ripe, following careful handpicking, the grapes were delivered to the winery, destemmed, and whole bunch pressed. Racked to barrel for a wild yeast fermentation in French oak with regular lees stirring. Partial malolactic fermentation was completed in spring. The wine had 11 months in French oak barriques.
