A beautiful balanced palate of stone fruits and citrus with a clean minerality. The seamless oak integration shows fine texture & complexity.
A wetter than average spring during flowering resulted in a slightly lower average yield. The La Nina weather continued over summer gave rise to slower ripening period than usual. This resulted in a harvest of grapes retaining high level of acidity with good concentration of flavour. The quality & flavour of the grapes remained excellent.
A very cool & low-cropping year produced intensely flavoured fruit. Following careful handpicking, the grapes were delivered to the winery and whole bunch pressed. The juice was racked to barrel for a wild yeast fermentation in French oak with regular lees stirring. Malolactic fermentation was completed in spring softening the acidity. The wine had 10 months in French oak barriques.
