Elgee Park Pinot Gris
Made in a full- bodied, rich style; Once picked it develops ripe pear and almond flavours. Fermented in old barrels with some less stirring complements the richness of the fruit. Poached pear and almond predominate, folding into a delicate palate. A beautifully balanced wine with maximum fruit weight, it’s freshness remains all the way to the crisp dry finish.

2017 was marked by a very wet and cold flowering period resulting in tiny crops. The harvest itself was relatively late compared to preceding vintages, so picking was during the very mild and sunny autumn. The berries show intense perfume and great flavour which has produced exceptional balanced wines.
Whole bunch pressed directly to old French oak barrels for fermentation and matured on lees in barrel with occasional stirring for greater textural complexity. It was racked, stabilised and prepared for bottling in late June.
