Elan Vineyard is a small family run vineyard in Balnarring. The first vines planted at Elan were in 1981 on a North Easterly slope. The grape varieties being Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz. The vineyard is 110 meters above sea level protected by tree lines but still receiving cooling breezes from Westernport Bay. The vineyard is not irrigated and low yielding. The vineyard was extended to 2.5 hectares over the 80s with Chardonnay, Gamay and Pinot Noir planted. Our viticultural practices expose fruit to dappled sunlight to maximise the fruit quality. Winemaking is one of limited interference, using wild yeast to produce wines that reflect the site
