PALATE
An earthy palate of black cherry and plum with integrated toasty oak, spice and soft chalky tannins.
VINTAGE
Some challenging weather conditions around flowering reduced the fruit set and resulting yields. Although temperatures across the ripening period were slightly higher than average the day time temperatures were cooler. This allowed for an extended ripening period and together with low yields gives the wine great minerality drive and finesse while maintaining the acidity.
WINEMAKING
The 2024 vintage was low yielding, cool weather and resultant intensely flavoured and structured wines. The Pinot Noir was destemmed and commenced fermentation naturally after four days’ cool maceration. A further two weeks was spent on skins prior to pressing to barrel for malolactic fermentation and maturation. Racked and bottled in late January 2025.
