PALATE
Excellent balance of generous fruit characters the use of oak create a Chardonnay with richness, depth & a flinty mineral edge.
VINTAGE
Budburst was early this year which resulted in flowering with good fruit set. The warm ripening period saw harvest commence a week sooner than normal. Yields were reported as high – average with fine acidity retention and excellent balanced flavours.
WINEMAKING
The fruit was pressed in whole bunches and the juice was fermented in French oak barrels. There was partial wild ferment and partial malolactic fermentation with regular stirring. The wine was matured in the same barrels, a mix of seasoned and new, for 11 months.
