Elgee Park, the oldest vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula, was originally the country retreat of Baillieu & Sarah Myer and their children. In 1972 the first vines were planted on the property. Small parcels of grapes, cool nights and warm summers, produce wines of great finesse, depth and balance. Aromas of cherry & raspberry displaying whole bunch elements & cedar spice. Refined red fruits of cherry, raspberry strawberry & vanilla spice. The soft tannins & concentrated fruit round out a well-balanced & structured palate. A truly sophisticated pinot.
his stunning wine is crafted from a beautiful site and showcases exceptional attention to detail. Made from the Pommard clone, just four barrels were produced. On the nose, it bursts with red cherries, poached strawberries, and rhubarb, intertwined with hints of pimento, cinnamon, and a touch of cedar. The palate offers a delightful interplay of fruit sweetness and savory complexity, with tangy pomegranate-like acidity, tamarind, and a subtle menthol note. Fine, dusty, peppery tannins and sappy succulence provide structure, while a zesty, bright finish of exceptional length lingers beautifully.
Subtle oak nuances delicately frame this lighter-styled wine, enhancing its elegance and charm.
Aromas of dark cherry, violets and rose petal. The floral notes in this vintage are particularly lifted and vibrant. The low crop weights and small bunches have resulted in intensely concentrated fruit flavours and fine velvet tannins. The cherry, strawberries and black berry flavours dominate with more subtle savoury tones and exotic fruits coming through on the back palate. The fine grain tannins and well defined structure carry the fruit sweetness well with great length.
