Grown exclusively on Portsea Estates Portsea vineyard, with vines planted in the year 2000. An interesting 1.4 acre vineyard, originally a limestone quarry in the 1800’s. With North and South facing aspects, it is planted equally to chardonnay clones 76, P58 and i10. The 2022 Portsea Block Chardonnay was aged in a combination of oak sizes, but mainly in old French puncheons. It has 20% new oak and 33% malolactic fermentation. It will cellar for a minimum of 10 years.

The palate is mouth filling and rich, with oyster shell, nectarine and flinty characters, combined with long, refreshing acidity and a pleasant phenolic grip. It will cellar for a minimum of 10 years.
